Bazel either reuses the `PATH` from the client, or sets a hardcoded
one. The former mode in problematic for build hermeticity. But the
latter is crippled on NixOS, because the hardcoded value is
`/bin:/usr/bin`. So we set the hardcoded value to match what
`customBash` provides. This has the effect of aligning the
environments for `ctx.actions.run` and `ctx.actions.run_shell`, which
were previously distinct (bug).
This makes the command ‘nix-env -qa -f. --arg config '{skipAliases =
true;}'’ work in Nixpkgs.
Misc...
- qtikz: use libsForQt5.callPackage
This ensures we get the right poppler.
- rewrites:
docbook5_xsl -> docbook_xsl_ns
docbook_xml_xslt -> docbook_xsl

Updates hex2nix to a new version that includes pinned dependencies.
This allows building hex2nix even if newer versions of dependencies
than what is packaged in `hex-packages.nix` are available in the
package snapshot.
The version of ibrowse used has been downgraded due to an issue in the
library. Custom builds of the ibrowse and jsx dependencies have been
removed from the derivation.
Updates rebar3 to version 3.6.1, which amongst other things introduces
support for rebar3 on Erlang/OTP 21.
Changes made:
* rebar3 and dependencies updated to new versions
* rebar3 hermeticity patch updated to apply against new version
* hex package registry snapshot updated
Not every package that needs xcbuild will want to use its build phase.
I have moved the xcbuild setup hook to the new attribute xcbuildHook.
This means that dontUseXcbuild is no longer needed. If you just need
to call xcbuild on its own you can just refer to xcbuild.
This reworks some of xcbuild logic to make it more compatible with
Apple’s SDK.
- Add a fake version of xcrun & xcode-select
- Cleanup platform generation. Clang does not like having 20 char
hashes in sysroot so it is much easier to just build the parent
directory for each runCommand. This is a little awkward but I have
renamed everything with an added ‘s’ to make the distinction more clear.
- Cleaned up wrapper.nix in some different ways
- Reuse some versioning logic so that we don’t end up with two
different versions of Xcode or SDK reported.

This is a good way to test that plist works.
Sorry for the large diff. There are a bunch of cleanups in here that
needed to be done. Should make it possible to use in cross
compilation.
Bazel is a build tool, much like Make and many others. Like Make, it
should be agnostic to the compiler toolchains the user brings into
scope. Bazel has special rules that encode domain specific knowledge
for how to compile a C++ program, or indeed a Java program and a few
others. But that's not to say that at runtime Bazel should assume
a specific C++ compiler or Java compiler anymore than Make does.
The main impact of this change is that packages that build with Bazel
will have to list the compilers they want in their `buildInputs` or
similar, rather than relying on the `bazel` package pulling them in
transitively.

Other larger rebuilds would apparently need lots of time to catch up
on Hydra, due to nontrivial rebuilds in other branches than staging.

This fails for me:
> compressed_output.cc:320:20: error: format string is not a string literal (potentially insecure) [-Werror,-Wformat-security]
> gold_warning(_("not compressing section data: zlib error"));
> ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
> ./system.h:40:20: note: expanded from macro '_'
> # define _(String) gettext (String)
> ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
> compressed_output.cc:320:20: note: treat the string as an argument to avoid this
> gold_warning(_("not compressing section data: zlib error"));
> ^
> "%s",
> ./system.h:40:20: note: expanded from macro '_'
> # define _(String) gettext (String)
^
Disabling format hardening should hopefully be harmless here. If it's a problem we can also make it conditional.

When dontUseCmakeBuildDir is true (aka the default), it overrides
cmakeDir regardless of the package configuration.
While packaging netbee, I needed to both keep dontUseCmakeBuildDir to
true (some hardcoded paths expect the build folder) and set cmakeDir
(since CMakeList.txt was in a subfolder) which proved impossible.
Here is the fix.
The Darwin case seems newly fixed in the tarballs now.
Beware: the affected file is *not* in bison's git repo (gitignored),
but it is in tarballs and is used during build (yummy!)

Lots of packages are missing versions in their name. This adds them
where appropriate. These were found with this command:
$ nix-env -qa -f. | grep -v '\-[0-9A-Za-z.-_+]*$' | grep -v '^hook$'
See issue #41007.
Skopeo used by our docker tools was patched to work in the build
sandbox (it used /var/tmp which is not available in the sandbox).
Since this temporary directory can now be set at build time, we remove
the patch from our docker tools.
* add zlib dep (cmake tries to find it, provide it JIC)
* no need to populate with path to c++filt, handled internally now
* continue to copy ourselves, new install target isn't ready yet

The original `nexus` derivation required `/run/sonatype-work/nexus3`
which explicitly depended on the NixOS path structure.
This would break `nexus` for everyone using `nixpkgs` on a non-NixOS
system, additionally the module never created `/run/sonatype-work`, so
the systemd unit created in `services.nexus` fails as well. The issue
wasn't actively known as the `nixos/nexus` test wasn't registered in
Hydra (see #40257).
This patch contains the following changes:
* Adds `tests.nexus` to `release.nix` to run the test on Hydra.
* Makes JVM parameters configurable: by default all JVM options were located
in `result/bin/nexus.vmoptions` which made it quite hard to patch
these parameters. Now it's possible to override all parameters by
running `VM_OPTS_FILE=custom-nexus.vmoptions ./result/bin/nexus run`
(after patching the `nexus` shell script), additionally it's possible
to override these parameters with `services.nexus.vmoptions`.
* Bumped Nexus from 3.5.1 to 3.11.0
* Run the `nexus` test on Hydra with `callTest` in `nixos/release.nix`,
furthermore the test checks if the UI is available on the specified
port.
* Added myself as maintainer for the NixOS test and the package to have
some more people in case of further breakage.
* Added sufficient disk space to the `nexus` test, otherwise the service
fails with the following errors:
```
com.orientechnologies.orient.core.exception.ODatabaseException: Cannot create database 'accesslog'
com.orientechnologies.orient.core.exception.OLowDiskSpaceException: Error occurred while executing
a write operation to database 'accesslog' due to limited free space on the disk (242 MB). The database
is now working in read-only mode. Please close the database (or stop OrientDB), make room on your hard
drive and then reopen the database. The minimal required space is 256 MB. Required space is now set to
256MB (you can change it by setting parameter storage.diskCache.diskFreeSpaceLimit) .
The hack of using `crossConfig` to enforce stricter handling of
dependencies is replaced with a dedicated `strictDeps` for that purpose.
(Experience has shown that my punning was a terrible idea that made more
difficult and embarrising to teach teach.)
Now that is is clear, a few packages now use `strictDeps`, to fix
various bugs:
- bintools-wrapper and cc-wrapper
And there's more reverts too. The previous commmit
it!
