This reverts commit fb6d63f3fd.
I really hope this finally fixes#99236: evaluation on Hydra.
This time I really did check basically the same commit on Hydra:
https://hydra.nixos.org/eval/1618011
Right now I don't have energy to find what exactly is wrong in the
commit, and it doesn't seem important in comparison to nixos-unstable
channel being stuck on a commit over one week old.

Since the last time I ran this script, the Repology API changed, so I had to
adapt the script used in the previous PR. The new API should be more robust, so
overall this is a positive (no more grepping the error messages for our relevant
data but just a nice json structure).
Here's the new script I used:
```sh
curl https://repology.org/api/v1/repository/nix_unstable/problems \
| jq -r '.[] | select(.type == "homepage_permanent_https_redirect") | .data | "s@\(.url)@\(.target)@"' \
| sort | uniq | tee script.sed
find -name '*.nix' | xargs -P4 -- sed -f script.sed -i
```
I will also add this script to `maintainers/scripts`.

required a bit of an overhaul to ensure we're compiling against *this*
kernel's headers, not those in glibc which are presumably from some other
random kernel version.
would be nice to update to a more recent version, the build of this tool
reportedly got broken soon after this release.
Debian has yanked the upstream tarball we use to get default.script. We
could simply bump the version number to get the new tarball, but to
avoid the problem in the future, we should instead fetch it from git.
This bumps systemd to the latest stable maintenance release.

Now allows applying external overlays either in form of
.dts file, literal dts context added to store or precompiled .dtbo.
If overlays are defined, kernel device-trees are compiled with '-@'
so the .dtb files contain symbols which we can reference in our
overlays.
Since `fdtoverlay` doesn't respect `/ compatible` by itself
we query compatible strings of both `dtb` and `dtbo(verlay)`
and apply only if latter is substring of the former.
Also adds support for filtering .dtb files (as there are now nearly 1k
dtbs).

There are some misplaced dependencies like gobject-introspection and orc that should probably go to nativeBuildInputs but upstream detects them incorrectly.
This fixes the `bcc` include directory (which was improperly set, and
warned about at build-time, but masked by some backwards compat code,
apparently) and also includes some missing libraries in `buildInputs`

The Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) is not yet fully packaged in
nixpkgs and it has shown a very difficult task to complete, as
discussed in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/94870. The
conclusion is that it is better to completely remove it.
This came up in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/96008.
Without this patch modinfo always prints the module name for builtin
modules, even if an explicit --field is passed.
rfkill was subsumed by util-linux in 2017 [1], and the upstream has not
been updated in over 5 years [2]. This package shadows the rfkill from
util-linux, so it can be completely removed with no breaking changes,
because util-linux is in the base package set in nixos/system-path.

In some contexts, we don’t want to have to build the whole i686 stdenv
just to use the x86_64 nvidia driver. It’s hard to know ahead of time
what we want, so it’s best to leave this as an overridable option.
This reverts commit fee8c0ae07.
The required systemd update was done in 9f911ab1b5; test works for me:
nix build -f nixos/release.nix tests.latestKernel.login.x86_64-linux
Version 6.0.0 brings better Win32 API coverage and bugfixes.
It's been used in various distros long enough to be considered stable.
Latest version 7.0.0 hasn't received extensive testing yet.

This makes things more consistent with how we pass in utillinuxMinimal.
There's already a minimal argument in the gnupg derivation, but this
gnupg is even more minimal. Instead of defining a gnupgSuperMinimal, we
define it inline inside systemd.
systemd 246 started baking in some strings into $lib/lib/libsystemd.so
which points back to $out.
It might be desirable to not have these strings in there, but instead
have systemd ask the running manager for the really active paths via
IPC, or patch in some more mutable paths (like /run/current-system/…) -
but as long as it is as it is, we should probably should just stop
producing the `lib` output for now.
This does increase the runtime closure for installations not pulling in
systemd.out, or linking against multiple libsystemd's, but doesn't
increase the runtime closure for NixOS itself, as it needs systemd
anyways, and doesn't link against multiple variants of it.
We can also remove the aarch64-specific $out/lib/systemd/catalog hack,
and revive it at a later time if the `lib` output is reintroduced.

This package previously did override the systemd package, and instructed
ninja, systemd's previous build system, to only build the
cryptsetup-specific systemd generators (plus some manual rpath
massaging, as ninja install wasn't used).
Afterwards, users were expected to add this package to their
`systemd.generator-packages` (or since
https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/65376/files `systemd.packages`)
NixOS module options, so systemd will use these generators.
As the previous commit added cryptsetup support directly to the systemd
package (and pkgs.systemd now already ships the cryptsetup generators),
we don't need another package shipping the same generators.
There's a circular dependency to systemd via cryptsetup and lvm2
(systemd -> cryptsetup -> lvm2 -> udev=systemd).
However, cryptsetup only really needs the devmapper component shipped
with lvm2. So build `pkgs.cryptsetup` with a lvm2 that doesn't come with
udev.
Adding this patch makes zfs compile against 5.8-rc7 kernels.
Upstream PR: https://github.com/openzfs/zfs/pull/10422
Modifications:
- spl_kvmalloc does not exists in zfs 0.8.4 - related code was dropped.
This disabled systemd-journal-upload and systemd-journal-remote.
We didn't install the unit files anyways, so this was probably not used
at all, and currently fails to build due to libmicrohttpd and systemd
code being incompatible:
```
../src/journal-remote/journal-remote-main.c: In function ‘setup_microhttpd_server’:
../src/journal-remote/journal-remote-main.c:431:38: error: passing argument 5 of ‘MHD_start_daemon’ from incompatible pointer type [-Werror=incompatible-pointer-types]
```
This adds a warning to the top of each “boot” package that reads:
Note: this package is used for bootstrapping fetchurl, and thus cannot
use fetchpatch! All mutable patches (generated by GitHub or cgit) that
are needed here should be included directly in Nixpkgs as files.
This makes it clear to maintainer that they may need to treat this
package a little differently than others. Importantly, we can’t use
fetchpatch here due to using <nix/fetchurl.nix>. To avoid having stale
hashes, we need to include patches that are subject to changing
overtime (for instance, gitweb’s patches contain a version number at
the bottom).
installTarget looks like a typo for installTargets. This causes a lot
of llvm and clang to be built and installed.
Clang is not intended to be an external dependency. The source bundle
includes llvm and clang. Adding include paths and building clangBasic
first is sufficient to use the internal clang components.
The App Store looks at LC_VERSION_MIN_IPHONEOS to verify you have a
new enough SDK version. This is not just the minimum version, but also
the sdk version used. When the linker can’t figure it out, it tries to
infer it from the sdk path[1]. When no sdk version is found, it
defaults to just using the -miphoneos-version-min value[2]. So, to make
sure we don’t rely on inference (which doesn’t work in the current
directory structure), we have to specify -platform_version.
