It looks like `with Path:` is supposed to be a context-manager
for changing directory but it doesn't seem to work and the only
way I've found to make that work is if we made our own and annotated it.
Instead just use nix search path to tell the expression where
to find the file it looks for.
Also re-use SCRIPT_DIR elsewhere instead of re-"computing" it.
While I'm not sure whether it's suitable for my tasks it might be useful
for others doing reverse engineering, so I decided to package it.
The software seems to have stalled development since a while but became
active again recently, so hopefully some of the issues with packaging
will be fixed and they might want to move away from their handwritten
configure script.
I've tested the package on both i686-linux and x86_64-linux, however the
automated test suite seems to be broken upstream at the moment so I
didn't set doCheck to true, but once this is fixed, we can enable them
in a future update.

Lack of 32bit support led to the creation
of an overlay to add it back again,
but since it at least builds and seems to work
don't see why we'd disallow it here :).

Apparently, without this patch `NT_PRSTATUS` is not found. So the patch
adds the include apparently necessary. `NT_PRSTATUS` is also defined in
`<linux/ptrace.h>`, which would likely have been a better name, were it
not in the `linux/` directory, which is a priori not stable.
The need to do that is kind of weird (the change was introduced in [1],
and fedora apparently didn't need this additional import), but I'll try
to upstream it.

One should depend on
- `stdenv.cc.bintools`: for executables at build time
- `libbfd` or `libiberty`: for those libraries
- `targetPackages.cc.bintools`: for exectuables at *run* time
- `binutils`: only for specifically GNU Binutils's executables, regardless of
the host platform, at run time.
The bzero-patch was merged upstream in
git-svn-id: svn://svn.valgrind.org/valgrind/trunk@16103, so it does no
longer apply.
Additionally - to make the build succeed on darwin systems more recent
than our nixpkgs.darwin.xnu kernel version - we need to teach the build
the version of the xnu headers we provide, instead of letting the build
figure out the actual system version using `uname -r`.
* pkgs: refactor needless quoting of homepage meta attribute
A lot of packages are needlessly quoting the homepage meta attribute
(about 1400, 22%), this commit refactors all of those instances.
* pkgs: Fixing some links that were wrongfully unquoted in the previous
commit
* Fixed some instances
In line with the Nixpkgs manual.
A mechanical change, done with this command:
find pkgs -name "*.nix" | \
while read f; do \
sed -e 's/description\s*=\s*"\([a-z]\)/description = "\u\1/' -i "$f"; \
done
I manually skipped some:
* Descriptions starting with an abbreviation, a user name or package name
* Frequently generated expressions (haskell-packages.nix)
rr wants to build itself with 32+64bit support on 64bit systems, but
this fails in recent NixOS versions as it can't find libstdc++.so.6 at
runtime.
This patch disables 32bit builds on 64bit. To debug 32bit binaries,
pkgsi686Linux.rr can be used.
* Added mappings for Qt 5.4.
* Added better analysis of uses in macros.
* Added --no_comments switch to suppress why-comments.
* Fixed bug with global namespace qualifier on friend declarations.
* Fixed bug in fix_includes.py generating invalid diff output.
The following parameters are now available:
* hardeningDisable
To disable specific hardening flags
* hardeningEnable
To enable specific hardening flags
Only the cc-wrapper supports this right now, but these may be reused by
other wrappers, builders or setup hooks.
cc-wrapper supports the following flags:
* fortify
* stackprotector
* pie (disabled by default)
* pic
* strictoverflow
* format
* relro
* bindnow
This will probably be mandatory soon, and is a step in the right
direction. Removes the deprecated meta.version, and move some meta
sections to the end of the file where I should have put them in
the first place.
Compatible with llvm+clang 3.7. Changes:
- Added Boost and Qt mappings.
- Better support for using declarations.
- Allow size_t from multiple headers.
- Fixed handling includes with common path prefix.

Upstream changes to the build system required adjusting many packages'
dependencies. On the Nixpkgs side, we no longer propagate the dependency
on cmake (to reduce closure size), so downstream dependencies had to be
adjusted for most packages that depend on kdelibs.
This was accidentally committed because I'm a goof - see
1ee742b0ef.

(My OCD kicked in today...)
Remove repeated package names, capitalize first word, remove trailing
periods and move overlong descriptions to longDescription.
I also simplified some descriptions as well, when they were particularly
long or technical, often based on Arch Linux' package descriptions.
I've tried to stay away from generated expressions (and I think I
succeeded).
Some specifics worth mentioning:
* cron, has "Vixie Cron" in its description. The "Vixie" part is not
mentioned anywhere else. I kept it in a parenthesis at the end of the
description.
* ctags description started with "Exuberant Ctags ...", and the
"exuberant" part is not mentioned elsewhere. Kept it in a parenthesis
at the end of description.
* nix has the description "The Nix Deployment System". Since that
doesn't really say much what it is/does (especially after removing
the package name!), I changed that to "Powerful package manager that
makes package management reliable and reproducible" (borrowed from
nixos.org).
* Tons of "GNU Foo, Foo is a [the important bits]" descriptions
is changed to just [the important bits]. If the package name doesn't
contain GNU I don't think it's needed to say it in the description
either.
When using scan-build, you're often going to want to use it in the
context of a Nix expression with buildInputs, and the default wrapper
scripts will put things like include locations for those inputs
$NIX_CFLAGS_COMPILE. Thus, scan-build also needs to pass them to the
analyzer - while the link flags aren't relevant, the include flags are.
This is because the analyzer executable that gets run by scan-build is
*not* clang-wrapper, but the actual clang executable, so it doesn't
implicitly add such arguments. The build is two-stage - it runs the real
clang wrapper once, and then the analyzer once.

* Remove package name
* Start with upper case letter
* Remove trailing period
Also reword some descriptions and move some long descriptions to
longDescription.
I'm not touching generated packages.
There are many more packages to fix, this is just a start.
Rules:
* Don't repeat the package name (not always that easy...)
* Start with capital letter
* Don't end with full stop
* Don't start with "The ..." or "A ..."
I've also added descriptions to some packages and rewritten others.
- don't repeat package name in description
- prefer licenses.gpl2Plus over free form "GPLv2+" license name
- add platform attribute so that splint will be available in the channel
